SEEVIC College vs City of London Academy

In the first game of 2019, Seevic couldn’t hold off CoLA as they suffered a defeat with an end score of 51 – 95.

Zee Ali led all scorers with 23 points whilst for the visitors Louis Norton -Cuffy had 22 points (18 coming from the first half). The home side started well, showing promise with breaking CoLA’s press. However, CoLA started to execute offensively and Seevic’s lack of concentration lead to the visitors piling on the pressure and coming up with steals in the front court. To begin the second half, Seevic came out positive, breaking the press and getting early points in transition. However, CoLA regrouped with a 14 – 2 run and Seevic lost focus of what was working for them. A better defensive performance was shown in the final stanza, with the hosts holding CoLA to 11 points but the loss of offensive rhythm meant Seevic couldn’t chip away at the deficit.

Seevic Head Coach, Ross Norfolk said, “At times we broke the press really well, sharing the ball and get people in the right spots to execute offensively. We need to strive for consistency with every possession and not come away from what is working for us’.

Next week Seevic travel to the in form Itchen whilst CoLA host Canterbury.
