SEEVIC College vs Copleston High School

SEEVIC College had an improved performance on Wednesday, but are still searching for their first win after falling 58-70 to Copleston High School.

The hosts matched Copleston’s intensity for the first quarter, however the visitors went up a gear in the second quarter – able to hold SEEVIC to just eight points to go into the half-time break leading by 25. The visitors were led by 17 first half points from freshman forward Ethan Price who quickly imposed himself on the contest.

SEEVIC quickly flushed the second quarter from their thoughts and came into the second half with added belief. After chipping away in the third, the hosts gathered momentum to take into the fourth period as they brought the game back to a nine point gap. Copleston began to hit some big shots as the lead stretched out again, finishing 58-70 in their favour. The hosts were led by Tendo Meseorisa who had 19 points, whilst Ethan Price finished with 21 points and 24 rebounds for the visitors.

SEEVIC Coach Ross Norfolk said, “I believe we were hungry to get back into competition after the week break for half-term. We need to be more consistent with our play and be able to deal with the pressure that teams are putting on us for the full 40 minutes.”

Next week sees SEEVIC host Oaklands College, whilst Canterbury High School will make the trip to face Copleston.
