SGS College 66 – 91 Charnwood College

Charnwood College put in a strong performance on the road to pick up a 66 – 91 win away to SGS College.

Charnwood made a strong start in this wire to wire victory and opened up a 10-point difference in the first five minutes of the contest. Strong scoring from Sagna and Wild would extend this to 17 at the end of the first. SGS battled to regain a footing and reduced the deficit to 13. A quarter of short runs from either team would leave this as margin going in to half time.

Charnwood reasserted their control with a high scoring third quarter and stayed in control for the remainder of the game. Wild (22) and Sagna (21) led the scoring for the visitors while Woodward had 16 points for SGS.

First year forward Finley Woodward commented after the came on the importance of “being more consistent and taking away the simple mistakes”.

Next week Charnwood host Newcastle Eagles Academy while SGS are next in action away to Manchester on the 4th December.
