SGS College vs Derby Trailblazers Academy

Derby Trailblazers Academy picked up a comfortable away win on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated SGS College 46-94.

The visitors jumped out to a strong start led by a 10 point quarter from Luke Pope to lead 25-10 after the first period. SGS showed some resilience in the second, as they cut the deficit by one to trail by 14 at the half.

The third quarter saw Derby push on once more, winning the quarter by a 20 point margin, before adding to their lead further in the final stanza.

First year SGS forward Louis Weaver said, “This definitely wasn’t our best day, but we need to keep working and stay concentrated to get back on track.”

Luke Pope led Derby with 16 points including four triples, with Blake Bowman and Tzion Essel Jaji added 11 points apiece. Marvin Dinnall led SGS College with 13 points in the loss.

Next week sees SGS travel to the undefeated Charnwood College, while Derby Trailblazers Academy will host Newcastle.
