SGS College 70 – 73 James Watt College

James Watt came out on top of a tightly contested game to pick up a 73-70 win away at SGS College.

SGS made a strong start to the game with a 9 -0 run and would lead by seven at the end of the 1st, with seven different players contributing to their 16 points.

JWC would gain a stronger foothold in the 2nd as both teams went back and forth with the hosts maintaining a 4 point lead at the half.

The 3rd would prove to be a quarter of runs with SGS opening up an 11 point gap before the visitors reduced the deficit to 4 once again.

In the 4th James Watt were powered by Ian Rodriguez who had 14 of his game high 33 points in the final period. James Watt would claim the lead and hang on from there in a game that went down to the final seconds.

SGS guard Nassim Ladjimi was positive after the game, saying: “We did a great job, continuing to compete throughout and just need to work on the little things to turn this into a win.”

Marvin Dinnall lead the home team with 21 points while Thomas Browne and Nassim Ladjimi contributed 13 and 12 respectively. Wakeem Richardson supported Rodriguez with 11 points for James Watt.

Next week SGS make the long road trip to Newcastle for their final game of 2019 while James Watt return to action on the 15th January at home to Manchester.
