SGS College vs Manchester Magic Academy

Manchester Magic Academy picked up their second win of the season to go 2-0 after defeating SGS College 42-69.

The first quarter was competitive, with Manchester taking the advantage to lead by eight. The second quarter was where the damage was done with the Magic putting together three runs of eight, seven and ten consecutive points to win the quarter by 18. The bulk of the scoring was done by Malachi Boakye-Yiadom who had nine in the quarter. The second half was much closer with neither team able to have a significant impact on the lead and Manchester held on for the comfortable win.

Second year SGS player Sam Chigbo said, “We are getting better but cannot afford to take any quarters off at this level. We know the things we have to work on to continue to improve.”

Boakye-Yiadom led the Magic with 17 points, with Ty Jordan adding 14. Sam Chigbo had 12 for SGS.

Next week Manchester host Derby Trailblazers Academy, while SGS travel to Myerscough College.
