SGS College vs Myerscough College

SGS College’s spirited performance did not prove enough as the Bristol side went down 101-52 to visitors Myerscough College this past Wednesday at the SGS WISE campus.

Myerscough started the game strong holding the home team to just 6 points in the first quarter which allowed them to build a 20 point lead in the first ten minutes of the game.

SGS fought back with AJ Edu leading the way producing a high scoring second quarter to go at the halftime break trailing 30 to 56.

The start of the second half saw SGS containing the visitors offense keeping them for the first time below 20 points in a quarter, however, a dominant fourth quarter 28 to 8 display by Myerscough shaped up the final result with all 11 players from the visiting side getting on the scoresheet.

SGS Coach Chris Bourne praised both teams: “Myerscough are a very good side and they demonstrated that with their approach during the whole game. Ultimately these are the types of games that we want to be playing.

“We were able to compete with them in spells and we did some very good things on both ends of the court particularly in the second and third quarters. We will take the positives from this game and continue to work on certain areas that we need to improve on as we are preparing for some very important games ahead of us over the next few weeks”

AJ Edu led all scorers for SGS with 20 points with Samuels adding 10, whilst Mate Okros led Myerscough with 26 with teammates Konrad Kantorski and Brown adding 12 and 10 points each.
