Sheffield College 55 – 72 James Watt College

In the final Game of the regular season, Sheffield College hosted James Watt College as the game ended 55-72 in favour of the Birmingham based side.

In the first quarter, James Watt came out firing and Sheffield’s slow start meant they ended the quarter down 9-19 .

The second quarter saw Sheffield manage to find their rhythm, winning the quarter 18-12 largely to do with Mahamud Ibrahim being a presence inside taking it himself or drawing the defence for kick outs. He would go on to top score for Sheffield in a low scoring game with 14 points. Sheffield would find themselves down only five points at the half with the score being 27-32.

The third quarter was where James Watt started to pull away with score after score in transition and playing solid man-to-man defence allowing them to win the quarter 20-10 growing their lead to 37-52.

Going into the fourth, the game wasn’t out of reach for Sheffield but would take a huge comeback to get the win, they managed to score 18 points in the quarter but it wasn’t enough as the Birmingham side had 21 and ended the game 55-72 Victors.

In A balanced scoring outing For James Watt, Ian Rodriquez led with 14 whilst Wakeem Richardson and Sam Cheshire adding 13 and Josh Ijeh hit 12.

For Sheffield only Mahamud Ibrahim got into double digits, leading with 14 whilst Tom Morey had nine, Reyd West eight and Juvainey Wright seven.
