The Sheffield College 59 v 101 Myerscough College

Myerscough College secure a big 101 – 59 win on the road at The Sheffield College.

Sheffield made a slow start as Myerscough went up 20-6, with impressive outside shooting and solid defence not allowing Sheffield to get easy baskets.

After allowing 60 points in the first half, Sheffield stepped up the defence in the second half keeping Myercough to 39 points.

Sheffield attempted to chip away at the Myerscough lead, however the first half deficit was too much and Myerscough finished convincing winners. Myerscough were led by Lewis McGlasson on 22, Amari Williams on 16 and Mikey Irvine with 16.

The Sheffield College Head Coach Brad Connor said “It was a good learning experience for some of our younger players today despite the result. In spells of the second half we played some fantastic basketball but we now need to improve our consistency and up the intensity for the full 40 minutes.

“Credit must go to Myerscough as they dominated the first half with some excellent shooting and tough defence.”

Sheffield’s Tom Morey had 14 points whilst Reyad West chipped in with 8.

Sheffield face a long trip to SGS College next week looking to go 2-2, whilst Myerscough have to travel to last year’s EABL champions Charnwood College.
