USP College 58 v 96 Canterbury Academy

Canterbury remained perfect on the season with a comfortable 58 – 96 road win against USP College.

A tight first quarter saw Canterbury lead by 1, 14 -15, with Daniel Oghagbon chipping in a last 2 points to nudge Canterbury in front.

Canterbury dominated the second quarter, taking control of the game. USP struggled to create scoring opportunities, while Canterbury were finding easy ways to score. That left the score at 30 -50 by the main change.

The third quarter saw USP getting punished from full court pressure and made numerous turnovers, with Canterbury making the most of their shots from beyond the arc during this 3rd quarter.

A scrappy fourth quarter saw Canterbury extend their lead and seal the game with 4 of their 12 players reaching double figures.

Top scorers for Canterbury were Will Raife with 27 points, Chester Morrell had 15 while Jonathan Fakile with 11 points & Robbie Graham 10 points. USP’s top scorers were Will Bose with 14 points, Demi Adeyeye and Joe Dunbar had 13 points each.

USP Head Dominic Ng noted after the game: “It was another disappointment result today. We have till November to work on our game with the players needing to get better.”

USP Host to John Madejski Academy next game while Canterbury host BHASVIC.
