USP College 55 – 96 Copleston High School

USP College played host to Copleston on Wednesday afternoon with the final score of 55-96 to the visitors.

It would prove to be a fast start for the away team in the first quarter as Copleston led by 16, with Ethan Price hitting 18 points.

The 2nd quarter saw the home side start much brighter, with a number of steals, rebound and break away opportunities. That helped USP score 21 points and find a way back into the contest.

The 3rd quarter saw Ipswich race away to a 36 point lead, with the majority of their points coming from steals. USP could take solace in a much more even 4th quarter but it would make no difference to the final result as the damage was already done in the 1st and 3rd quarter.

Coach Dominic Ng commented after the game: “At times we play some great basketball, but when need to improve our shot selection and ball movement.”

Next week sees USP travel away to BHASVIC as Copleston play host to John Madejski Academy.
