We’ve arrived at the final set of games for 2021, with a pair of fixtures taking place this past Wednesday.

Charnwood beat local rivals Derby and SGS topped Newcastle, we’ve got a recap of both games below and both scores is clickable to access the top scorers/box score where available.

Derby College Trailblazers 74-93 Charnwood College Riders

Charnwood retained their unbeaten record in the Northern conference as they beat Derby 93-74.

The Riders have now done the double over their Midlands rivals after besting them 78-64 a few week ago, though the win here came courtesy of 21 points from Kanu Gudza, 19 more from Lane Campbell and 14 from Ceejay Hanson.

Simeon Perry led Derby with 21 points, but it wouldn’t be enough to keep DTB from ended 2021 below .500. Coach Shaw’s side are now 3-4 heading into the New Year.

SGS College 96-82 Newcastle Eagles Academy

25 points from Jayden Edwards ensured SGS College would head into 2022 off the back of a win, with the hosts knocking off Newcastle 96-82.

Edwards was supported by 14 points from Rokas Jodkevicius and 13 more from Joe Moss as coach Bourne’s side picked up their second victory of the season.

Newcastle slipped to 0-8 following the loss and finish 2021 without a win. Joe Sheeran had 24 points for the visitors as Vincent Xie (11pts), Josh Osarenkhoe and Charles Lewis (10pts each) all played well.
