EABL Player of the Week – 2 February 2022

Excitement continues to build across the EABL as the regular season is nearing a close.

Six games filled the slate in week 14, and picking a Player of the Week from the list of candidates was a difficult task.

John Madejski Academy’s talented forward Kivuvu Live was the man who made the cut this week though, he’s our POTW!

JMA are currently tied for second in the Southern conference and Live’s performance was a strong reason why they claimed their sixth W of the season last Wednesday, sealing an 84-74 win over previously unbeaten Barking Abbey.

Live’s 31 points were a weekly high, coming on 12-18 shooting, adding 11 rebounds, two steals and an assist to his final box.

His 29 efficiency rating was also a weekly high, as was his adjusted efficiency of 37.7 (adjusted efficiency factors in opponent strength to each player’s performance).

Speaking about the game with Barking, Live said: “As a team, we’ve worked so hard to get to the position we’re in now and we were really happy to pick up the win.

“It’s great to see the hard work paying off!”

Head coach Daniel Pearson added: “Kivuvu was outstanding for us this week with an absolutely dominate performance around the rim on both sides of the ball.

“His motor and energy were second to none and captured his trademark style that is anything but soft.”
