EABL Player of the Week – 9 March 2022

The end of the regular season is here, but that didn’t stop players from putting in a shift with some fine performances in the final game week.

A first time winner for the season, our latest award went to Canterbury’s Emmanuel Jolaoluwa after he helped his team to an 85-80 home win against Copleston.

The season might not have gone have the Kent programme wanted this year, but that hasn’t stopped Jolaoluwa from showing off his skills on a weekly basis as he calls time on his EABL career.

Against Copleston he dropped an impressive 37 points to go with 11 rebounds (3 on offence), seven assists and six steals.

Nine turnovers hurt the young guard’s overall efficiency but his final number of 35 was still a weekly high across the league.

After winning the award, Jolaoluwa said: “This game really meant a lot to me, I really wanted to win my last EABL game.

“My teammates and coaches trusted me and I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Coach Adam Davies added: “I am really happy for Eman to win an award like this, his development over the two years with us has been awesome due to his commitment to get better in all aspects of his game.

“This award is also a reflect on how far the team has come since the start of the season. I’m proud of Eman and everyone involved.”
