EABL Player of the Week – 22 February 2023

With just a few weeks left of the regular season, the stakes couldn’t be higher for all the teams looking to seal a spot in the EABL playoffs.

Some programmes still have a shot at tying up a regular season title and any player who can push their side to that kind of accolade is sure to be on the Player of the Week radar.

Barking’s Nedas Cholevinskas was in top form this past week as BA beat reigning South Conference champs Oaklands 78-66, with the talented young forward playing a starring role.

Hitting an impressive 10/14 from the floor that included 6/9 from beyond the arc, Cholevinskas did it all to finish with a game-high 31 points to go with five boards and a final efficiency rating of 29.

Speaking about winning the award, Cholevinskas said: “Thank you very much, I’m very happy to have received this award!

“Thank you to my coach and teammates as they’re the reason I was able to put up such a performance.”

Barking Abbey head coach James Vear added: “Nedas had a great performance along with his team mates, who did a good job of finding him when he was hitting shots.

“Nedas has had a excellent few months, not just in the EABL but also in NBL D1 where he has had a number of standout performances.”
